Where stone is met with patience, skill, and purpose.

Earthling Lumis brings together small-scale gemstone mining and a licensed lapidary operation in Arusha, where raw stone is transformed through precision, discipline, and long-term commitment. This is where value begins, not through speculation, but through work

What It Is

Earthling Lumis represents the foundational stage of the gemstone journey. It operates across twointerlinked pillars:

  • Small-scale coloured gemstone mining
  • A large-scale licensed lapidary workshop in Arusha

Here, stone moves from raw material to refined form, deliberately and responsibly.

Mining: A Long-Term Discipline

Coloured gemstone mining, especially Tsavorite, is inherently uncertain.

Progress is slow. Production is unpredictable. Results cannot be forced.

Our mining operations continue steadily, grounded in experience and patience, in

Lemshuku – Simajiro District, Manyara Region.

There are no artificial timelines, only persistence and respect for geological reality.

Mining is not treated as extraction alone, but as a disciplined engagement with the Earth.

Licensed Lapidary Operations

The active core of Lumis today is its large lapidary license in Arusha.

Within this facility, we cut and process:

  • Coloured gemstones
  • Semi-precious and accessible stones
  • Lower-grade material
  • Mine by-products and stone waste

Through cutting, shaping, polishing, and finishing, we create structured value from material that would otherwise remain underutilised. This is where skill converts potential into product.

Craft, Training & Local CapacityLumis is not only a production facility. It is a skills platform. Our workshop trains Tanzanian youth in:

  • Gemstone cutting
  • Precision polishing
  • Bead and component production
  • Handling and finishing techniques

The objective is clear: retain value addition locally and build long-term technical capability within Tanzania’s gemstone sector. Knowledge is transferred deliberately, not concentrated.

Lapidary Capabilities

Earthling Lumis provides:

Stone Cutting

Structured faceting and shaping of coloured gemstones and related material.

Polishing & Finishing  Surface refinement aligned with the character of each stone.

Cabochons & Freeforms Form-driven stones for jewellery, objects, and design use.

Beads & Components

Production of gemstone and mineral beads for jewellery and decorative applications.

Value Addition from Low-Grade Material  Conversion of overlooked stone and mine waste into usable products across Earthling’s ecosystem.

Integration Across Earthling  Lumis forms the structural base of multiple Earthling ventures:

  • Earthling Blaze – finished gemstones
  • Earthling Astra – jewellery applications
  • Earthling Terrin – stone-based objects and interiors

Material flows intentionally. Nothing moves without purpose.

Why Lumis Matters

Lumis challenges the assumption that value lies only in rarity. By combining mining, cutting, and material recovery, it ensures:

  • Stones are not rushed prematurely to market
  • Lower-grade material is not discarded without consideration
  • Skill development remains central
  • Value addition remains close to source

This creates depth – not just product.

A Quiet Standard

Earthling Lumis is not built for spectacle or volume. It is built on discipline, structured growth, and technical integrity. From the earth, through the workshop, and into the wider Earthling system,

Lumis remains the beginning.
